This week we introduce to you the former international Tico Tico from Mozambique.
Tell us something about yourself
My name is Manuel Bucuane most known as Tico Tico. I am a former football player in my country (Mozambique) and also abroad. I had the privilege to represent the country in the National Football Team (Mambas) as a captain and I was also considered the top scorer of the country. At present (year 2015) I am 42 years old. I work in Maputo at Escolinha do Tico Football Academy where we educate boys and girls through football. For Football For Water I am a WorldCoach.
What do you like about being a WorldCoach?
I like the opportunity to teach children beyond football. I like to teach them techniques of football but also to show them that life is not only football, provide them with tools to face de daily challenges.
Who is your favourite football player?
My favourite football player is from Brazil and his name is Ronaldo Fenómeno.
What would you advice to your pupils?
Healthy food is important because help the player to keep the functions of the body to work in maximum performance. It is important to consume healthy food in order to get the required nutrients to become a good player.
What is your football dream?
My football dream is to have a football club with a vision and culture of football. These type of clubs are the best for football.
What moment in football will you always remember?
Being the captain of the national football team was a unique thing. It has influenced me on what I am and what I do today.
