Michael Ochieng, 13 years old. From Buoye primary school in Kisumu County Kenya.
In the beginning of 2014 his teacher told Michael and his peers that he had attended a coaching course and that he would give football trainings. Buoye primary school had been selected to be part of the football for WASH program and the project will help to get balls, uniforms, metal goalposts, and cons amongst others. “Since then our training has changed” according to Michael. “Our trainings are more organised, our school has three days for trainings and one interclass competition in a month. It’s not only football that we do; we also learn hand washing skills, how to make our food and drinking water safe and to stay healthy. This makes me a faster and stronger football player. I hope to get even better”. On the pitch Michael has shown marvelous skills and because of his size and pace he is unstoppable by the defenders of the opponent. Michael is a player that attracts people to the stadium.
